Thomas Hennen is really good at writing but instead of going to college to further that craft, he decided to come to Mines to try his hand at math. Thomas is a junior majoring in computational and applied mathematics with dreams of becoming a software developer.
“I knew I wanted to be educated in the applied sciences and have been drawn to Colorado since I visited here as a child,” Thomas said. He’s originally from Minnesota.
Thomas receives the President’s Scholarship and says without a doubt, his path would be very different if it weren’t for the scholarship support. “I could not afford to attend Mines without my scholarship, and The Mines Fund accounts for every dollar of my scholarship.”
When not eating tea and cookies (a favorite of his when he has some free time), Thomas can be found playing ultimate Frisbee on the club team.
