Although Erika Nieczkoski spent a few years away from her twin, Micaela, before transferring to Mines, the two have enjoyed being able to share their college experience once they were both here. Micaela graduated in May of 2017 with a degree in chemical and biochemical engineering and Erika will graduate in December of 2017 with a degree in mining and a minor in explosives engineering. Although they studied different things while at Mines, they still have a lot of twin tendencies. They both like to read, hike and travel. They collect old records, go to concerts and share a passion for Bob Dylan.
Although their parents dressed them up in matching outfits when they were young, Micaela and Erika had a good sense of humor when we asked if they would wear matching Mines shirts for this photo shoot.
Both have received scholarships from generous donors and have also benefited from The Mines Fund and all of the areas on campus that that fund supports.
