THE PARENTS FUND
Parents are an integral part of the Colorado School of Mines community. In addition to the support they give their Mines student and the financial investment of paying tuition, many generous parents also make annual contributions to The Parents Fund.
Tuition and state funding do not cover the entire cost of a Mines education. Each year, hundreds of parents bridge this gap by making a contribution to The Parents Fund, ensuring that Colorado School of Mines provides the best possible education for their sons and daughters.
The Parents Fund supports many important areas on campus, including:
• Student activities
• Library resources
• Classroom and laboratory upgrades
• Faculty recruitment and development
• Academic program support
Not only do contributions to The Parents Fund ensure that your student and their classmates receive a high-quality education, but ensures that future students experience the unique Mines experience as well.
Stay connected to Mines
Parents & Family Weekend on October 23-25, 2009 was a great success! Over 250 families visited campus to take part in many fun events with their student. Pictures from the weekend can now be viewed online. Thanks to all who attended!
Parents are encouraged to participate in future Parents & Family events, Homecoming, E-Days and Commencement.
Additionally, we want you to be informed about news and current events at Mines. The Parent Report newsletter is published electronically three times a year. The first issue was emailed on October 21st. If you did not receive it, please email Kim Spratt to update your information.
You can view the first issue of The Parent Report here. You also might want to check out the Parents and Family page on the main Mines web site for more information on Mines and visiting the Golden area.
